It was a friday in July when we set out on a weekend adventure to Devils Den State Park in Arkansas. We had the car bursting at the seams with camping necessities and whoever sat in the back was a victim to the huge bags avalanching their way everytime we turned. We arrived at Devils Den State park Friday night, set up the tent, and ventured down the river determined to make it as far as we could on foot. That night we decided to wake up super duper early to see the sunrise on a certain trail. Little did I know, they all knew all along where we were going and what would happen. The next morning Connor wakes me up by throwing a SOS flashlight into the tent and needless to say I flew out of bed. We packed our bags, grabbed some snacks, and headed on our way. After about an hour we come out to the most stunning overlook with the sun beginning to peak over the trees and fog still lingering from the night. We all stood there for a bit taking in the goodness of The Lords creation that we got to expierence. Next we of course needed pictures..because hello how could you not document such a beautiful place. First was Connor and I, except he was wearing this hideous fanny pack so before our picture he said with or without the fanny pack... without hesitation I said "uhh without." After that it was all a blur, he spins back around and says well first I have a question for you and begins to get on one knee. I knew it was true love because he proposed to me on a rock.....hello painful knee! At first I was so shocked and pulled away thinking this must be a dream and then he asked the best thing in the whole world..."will you marry me" and without hesitation in a excited mickey mouse voice " yes, absolutely." The rest of the weekend was incredible, we swam for hours, made smores around a campfire, and hiked and needless to say it was perfect!
He planned the weekend to a T, he knew I loved the outdoors, loved these friends of mine and he combined all together for the most perfect proposal weekend. I guess I will keep him around!
