Her Side
Once upon a crazy night I came across a giant man at a subway shop while dropping off friends and I swore I would never even "talk" to someone younger. A good friend knew it was a perfect match based on the phrase "whatcha talking about willis" and got us to begin talking. After two weeks of awkward texting we both decided it was way too weird and we arent weird at all...right?. That all changed when I pulled across the cattle guard of my annual summer camp that I was a counselor at. I was greeted by a crowd of people and when walking inside I saw a man of tall stature with short hair cracking up the room and I knew I was in trouble. For weeks I would talk myself out of the possible crush cause I just knew I could NEVER date someone that much younger. So i just sat back denying any feelings and watched as he became a counselor to many kiddos, quickly became friends with everyone, and all I could think was there is no way this guy is legit. Eventually we made our way to a rangers game with a group of backseat matchmakers who were just waiting for each word we would speak to one another. I remember vividly having to yell at him because his giant self could not hear a word I was saying being five feet from the ground. From there, it is all history. I fell in love with his caring demeanor, his humor, and his pursuit of me. There were many times that notes were passed back and forth, little gifts were left to be found, and nights off were spent sitting at sonic soaking up the minutes all the while sipping on a route 44. You see any guy would have just given up, dating while at camp is kind of tough, no feelings shown and everyone knows everything, but he pursued me even more and found so many ways to make me feel loved. To this day I cannot imagine myself with anyone else. I fell in love with a 6 foot 7 man and never looked back. I get to say I do to forever Chipotle dates, tiptoe kisses, adventures, endless laughter, and I cannot wait.
OUR
Story

His Side
I met Paige at Subway/Texas burger in Buffalo, Texas. The reason we met there was 100% coincidence. Our mutual friend Blake was going to pick up our other mutual friend Okie who had been staying with Paige in College Station. Blake and I lived in Tyler, Texas and he didn't want to make the drive alone so he invited me along. Since Buffalo is a middle point between Cstat and Tyler we decided to meet in Buffalo to pick up Okie. When we got there we assumed that Paige and Okie would be close... turns out they had not even left yet.. So we waited there for around 2 hour in the parking lot. Well I got hungry so right about the time I sat down with my foot long meatball sub Paige and Okie showed up. First impressions of Paige were "She's cute.. but, why is she trying to hug me like I've known her our whole lives?" They chatted with each other saying hellos and goodbyes while I polished off my meatball sub. When we got back to Rockin' C Ranch where Okie was staying and were hanging out for a bit when Blake said something out of nowhere along the lines of "That's who you remind me of! You're practically the same person!" Okie and I wondering what the heck Blake is talking about when he says "Paige and you both say 'Watcha talkin' bout Willis?' you're the same person!". So Blake got Paige's number for me with her permission and we awkwarldy texted for a couple weeks before that faded away. Then we reunited at Rockin' C Ranch that summer as counselors. Hilariously enough Blake also told me that she had a crush on me while at camp, and asked her to ride to the Ranger's game with us as well. (AKA Blake's my boy!) So basically from there we hung out more and more on the weekends when we were free and also passed a journal back and forth/texted each other good night. At the end of that summer we had a DTR moment and decided we wanted to pursue our relationship officially as boyfriend and girlfriend outside of camp. Now, many 3 hour drives worth every second on the road, chipotle trips, meeting half way for date nights, outdoors, camping, hiking, listen to podcasts about Genghis Khan, sermons in the car, another summer at Rockin' C, her graduating from A&M with a Bachelor's in Psychology, fishing stories with my Grandad, cookouts with both of our familes, a new puppy Hank(who is now over 2 years old!), constant laughter, praising God for His glory and grace, and everything else in between. Now, I get to call this woman, the woman of my dreams my wife for the rest of our lives. I cannot thank God enough for blessing me with someone as absolutely wonderful as Paige.
